Dental implants are the gold standard in tooth replacement.  First the desired restoration is planned and then the implant is planned. In some cases, there may not be enough bone structure needed to place the implant in the proper position in order to support the needed restoration. In these situations,  Dr. Sherry can help to augment the bone in order to create the necessary bone volume for the implant by using graft materials to stimulate the growth of additional bone. In addition, if the sinus is too close to the bone, Dr. Sherry can help create enough bone by gently lifting the membrane that lines the sinus and placing graft material underneath it in order to once again create the needed bone structure for a properly placed implant.
